The Global Times- Amity's youth newspaper is empowering young minds to be the change they wish to see. This fascinating newspaper initiates an annual ethical leadership program known as 'Youth Power' which brings together bright young leaders from Amity International Schools to address certain daily life problems that need our attention. From in-depth research to creative fundraising, these young change-makers are taking action and sharing their solutions. By conducting thorough research, developing innovative strategies, and mobilizing resources, these aspiring change-makers aim to make a tangible impact on their communities.



Team DehSaakaar (Body Positivity)

Amity International School, Noida won second runner-up and Best Mentor Teacher awards at the 14th Youth Power finale, held offline after two years. The team, comprising Praneel Dev, Harsimran Kaur (Class XI), and Ishaani Chaudhary, Manya Gupta (Class IX), initiated DehSaakaar (Body Positivity) and collaborated with an NGO to create body-positive dolls. Eleven teams from Amity Schools across Delhi-NCR and UP participated. The event featured Chief Guest Ayushman Jamwal, CNN News 18, and judges Dr Neha Sharma and Dr Amitabh Singh.

Team Vyadhimukt (Eating Disorders)

The school team Vyadhimukt made a hat-trick by winning the trophy and the Best Presentation award at the 13th online Youth Power finale. Class XI students Ananya Pareek, Sara Maheshwari, Vasudha Sharma, Yashasvini Verma, and mentor Smita Bharadwaj focused on tackling eating disorders. They collaborated with organizations like Discovery SPL, Trijog, NeevMH, and launched HelpED, an Android app providing helpline numbers and detailed information on eating disorders. Jury members included Prof. Manish K Verma and Dr. Sanjiban Banerjee.

Team DhvaniAlp (Deafness)

School YP team Dhvanialp won the trophy with AIS Pushp Vihar and the ‘Best Social Media Engagement’ award at the first virtual Youth Power finale. They raised awareness about deafness and facilitated a cochlear implant for 3-year-old Rakshit Jain from Baghpat, UP. The team included mentor Smita Bhardwaj, leader Vaishant Thakur, members Anannda Mittal, Vanya Tandon (Class XI), and Shreya Upreti (Class IX). Judges were Ms. Richa, IIT Roorkee alumna, and Ms. Deeksha Mittra, life skills coach.
